fringe? yea. it's in.

I was talking to my brother last night and of course, Fringe came up, not sure how...or why but it did, and so the inspiration for today blog came to fruition.

FRINGE!

Who's sitting where? Let them know with jubilant tented triangles strung clothesline-style across a paper-covered canvas. Create them by gluing little lengths of eyelashlike tissue and Mylar onto diamond-shaped card stock. Then fold each one in half, add names, and hang.

Exchange vows under streamer-strewn branches: Just use a rotary cutter to slice up stacks of tissue paper, glue them to found branches, and hang them from the ceiling with hooks and clear twine. Choose muted shades for an elegant ambiance.

Plexiglas stirrers add punch to signature drinks when they're decked out with petite pennants and pom-poms reminiscent of fireworks. To make, glue bits of Mylar or tissue paper to skewers.
To gussy up guests' plates, tie sheer linen napkins in loose knots, then tuck tissue paper blooms inside. Present each one next to a name card that's framed by a shining border.
Let guests peel off with candied fruit rinds in flavors like lemon, tangerine, and pink grapefruit, or send them home with coconut-coated cookies. To package the goods, use Confetti System's pyramid boxes(confettisystem.com), or make your own: Just adorn boxes with strips of snipped paper, or enlist fringe scissors to add a frill to the edge of cupcake liners.

Woodcrafter.com wood boxes BX4916 (woodcrafter.com). Raffit Ribbons raffia (raffit.com). Bayley's Boxes small white pyramid boxes (bayleysboxes.com).

Please pass the ... flutter? Bring texture to the table by hanging peach and persimmon tassels, plus glimmering strips of metallic Mylar, from branches anchored in slender white vases.

Whimsical Wedding

I always figured I would be a non-traditional bride, and this dress might just seal the deal. I LOVE this light blue, the bouquet is beautiful, but i have decided, I would want a brooch bouquet, almost exactly like the blog I featured a few weeks ago... Or like this one. this one exactly. Love the teal, white and red!!!!

Glitter Balls, Confetti Toss, and Tulle flowing with strings of lights. All this plus an open bar, and you've got my ideal whimsical wedding!

Table Numbering 101

Many wedding receptions have tables where guests can sit, mingle and eat. Some couples prefer to number those tables. The purpose of numbering tables is to allow the bride and groom to assign guests to specific tables. Additionally, numbered tables are appreciated by caterers because it allows them to know where to serve guests who have selected particular entrees. While there is no set rule for numbering tables, consult with your caterer and reception venue to see if they have a preference for the table numbers.

Instructions

    • Draw a layout of the room where the wedding reception will be held. If your reception will be held at a particular venue, ask your contact there if she has a diagram of the room for you to use. Make sure that you include on your layout every table that will be at your reception.
    • Note on your layout where the wedding party will sit. Often the bride and groom and/or the bridal party will sit at Table 1. Write "1" on the table that you have designated for the bridal party on your layout. Make a list of every person assigned to that table.

  • Designate a table near Table 1 and mark it "2." Write down every person assigned to Table
Designate which table will be "Table 3," mark it accordingly, and write down guests to be seated at that table. Repeat this process for every table on the layout until all of the tables are marked with a number and you have assigned a seat to every guest.
Make or purchase signs to put on the tables. Each sign should clearly indicate a number. These signs will help the guests navigate to the tables to which they have been assigned.
  • Put each guest's name on a small name card. If you have hired a calligrapher to make the name cards, give him the list of guest names and their assigned table numbers. Make sure that there is a name card for every guest and that each guest's name card includes the table number to which that guest has been assigned. Display the name cards on an easily accessible table or stand outside of your reception venue so that guests can pick them up on their way into the reception.

Here are some FANTASTIC ways to number your tables!

    A jewel among the flowers

Wedding bouquets comprised entirely of brooches and other vintage notions are becoming more and more popular amongst modern brides. The gems and jewels combine to create a beautiful bouquet that will never fade and can also be disassembled and turned into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, then passed along to your daughters and granddaughters one day.

We love these, a happy combination of flowers and brooches, LOVELY!

for a simpler look have your florist add corsage pins and gems to the end of your bouquet. For the bride who just wants a little sparkle!
